M Anil was shot dead in Telangana’s Medak district last week.
Shot dead while travelling in a car
Anil, who served as the Medak district Congress SC cell secretary, was travelling in a car in Kulcharam mandal on the night of July 14 when he was attacked.
According to police, the accused followed him in two vehicles, overtook his car to block its path, and one of them stepped out and fired four rounds. Though he was rushed to the hospital, doctors declared him dead.
Old disputes behind murder
Preliminary investigation revealed that Anil and three of the accused knew each other but had developed enmity over land and financial matters. The trio allegedly conspired with two others to eliminate him.
