Medak man gets life for sexually assaulting minor girl

Hyderabad: The LB Nagar court, on 4 December, sentenced a man to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor. A fine of Rs. 10,000 was also imposed against the 25-year-old from Narsingi village under Papannapet mandal in Medak dist.

The accused, Chithari Sailu alias Sai, was convicted under various sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act 2012.

According to the police, Sai and the victim were neighbours. The minor girl worked as a maid and her father was a watchman. The accused befriended the girl and took her to Vizag where he kept her in a rented room. Later, he sexually assaulted her and promised to marry her.

The then SHO of KPHB police station, Ch. Kushalkar, registered a case and launched an investigation. Sai was arrested and sent to judicial custody. After completion of the investigation, a charge sheet was filed.

On Monday, Sai was sentenced to life by the LB Nagar court.
