Medipally sub-inspector caught red-handed accepting bribe

Hyderabad: A sub-inspector of police at Medipally police station in Rachakonda police commissionerate was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 on Tuesday.

The sleuths of the anti-corruption bureau (ACB) caught Ch. Yadagiri Raju demanding and accepting the bribe from Nallika Prasanth of Boduppal in Medchal-Malkajigiri district. The bribe was in lieu of an official favour in connection with an accident case registered at the police station on 1 December.

The tainted money was recovered from the SI when the chemical test yielded a positive result.

The ACB said SI Raju had performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage. He was arrested and is being produced before the first additional special judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad, the ACB added.
