Hyderabad: In a tragic incident in Alwal, a road accident claimed the life of a child on Thursday afternoon. The victim, identified as Tirupal (9), succumbed to his injuries and died on the spot.

The accident occurred when a delivery mini DCM lorry, en route to a local supermarket in Alwal, veered off course and struck pedestrians. Among those hit was Tirupal, who was walking alongside his mother at the time. The impact left the young boy critically injured, and despite swift medical attention, he tragically passed away.

Witnesses at the scene expressed outrage, pointing fingers at the alleged negligence of the DCM van driver as the cause of the accident. Eyewitnesses claimed the DCM lorry was parked near the supermarket, but without the handbrake applied, it moved forward towards the Indira Gandhi Statue Crossroad where it hit the child. The driver fled the scene immediately following the incident, leaving behind chaos and sorrow.

A case has been registered at Alwal police station, and efforts are underway to apprehend the driver responsible for the fatal collision.

Tirupal, the young victim of the accident, was a resident of Alwal Gangaputra Colony and a student at Krishnaveni School, where he was studying Class 3. The incident happened while Tirupal and his mother were on their way to visit his father, who was undergoing medical treatment at a nearby hospital.
