Visakhapatnam: Vizag city police rescued three persons who were held hostage for three days to recover loan at Amalapuram area in East Godavari.

Four abductors have so far been arrested.

Sources said the incident occurred when a dispute arose over financial dealings. Sources said victims had illegally mortgaged the cars without informing the accused who had financed it. They were not paying the installments for quite some time.

The three kidnapped persons were from the Amalapuram area in East Godavari. There are around ten accused in the case, and all belonging to Kakinada in East Godavari.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Aishwariya Rashtogi said the victims had come to the house at Sagar Nagar on an invitation from the accused. And that is where they were held captive and physically assaulted, she said.

Based on a complaint from the victims' families, the police raided the location and rescued the persons on November 29. Police arrested two persons from the spot and two others were arrested later.

The investigation is on and the remaining five or six persons will be arrested soon, said the DCP.
