Motorcycle, bicycle theft: 6 arrested, bikes worth Rs 16L seized in Kakinada
The police seized 40 motorcycles worth Rs. 16 lakhs and 10 bicycles worth Rs. 50,000 from them.

Kakinada: The Kakinada district police arrested six people involved in motorcycle and bicycle thefts. The police seized 40 motorcycles worth Rs. 16 lakhs and 10 bicycles worth Rs. 50,000 from them.
On the instructions of Kakinada district SP M. Ravindranath Babu, the police team surveilled the movements of known criminals and arrested six persons, five of whom were involved in motorcycle thefts and one person stole bicycles.
The five motorcycle thieves have been identified as Patta Harish (27) of Karapa mandal; Yarramsetty Upendra (19) of Annamayya Ghati Centre, Kakinada; Kesanakurthi Srinivasa Rao (23) of Prathipadu village under Pithapuram mandal; D. Naga Babu (27) of Thotapeta, Ramachandrapuram; and V. Dhana Shekhar (20) of Jagannadhapuram. The main accused, Harish, was earlier arrested in 2017 for motorcycle theft.
The bicycle thief was identified as M.D. Shahjahan (46) of Ramachandrapuram.
The Kakinada SP said the accused have been committing thefts for a year.
