Mummadivaram: Minor boys among eight drown in Gowthami; one body fished out

Mummadivaram: Eight youth, including two minor boys, drowned after entering the Gowthami, a tributary of the Godavari River.
On Monday night, one body was fished out.
The incident occurred on Monday, when the boys entered the river for a bath at Kamini Lanka, an island on the river Godavari in Mummudivaram mandal in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district.
The youth had lunch at a function at Polisetti Abhishek's family in Seri Lanka of K. Gannavaram Mandal.
On Monday, after lunch, 11 of them went to take bath in the river. In a attempt to rescue one, seven of them have gone missing and got washed away, while three of them were safe.
Immediately, a team of the State Disaster Response Force and local swimmers has been deployed to search for the missing youths. On Monday night, one body was traced.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has directed District Collector R. Mahesh Kumar to closely monitor the rescue operation and update the status of the search operation with the family members of the missing youth.
