'Murder, dacoity, land grab': In a first, Kurnool police book 8 criminals under PD Act
Though police registered criminal cases and remanded them several times, their attitude did not change.

The accused were involved in rowdyism, robbery, dacoit, land grab, attacks, murders, and illicit production, selling, and transport of liquor for the past few years. They have been sent to Kadapa jail.
Addressing the media, district superintendent of police Siddarth Kaushal said Boya Nagaraju alias Bhumpalli Nagaraju, 45, a resident of Valmiki Nagar in Adoni town, has 14 criminal cases in different police stations.
Likewise, Boya Kothula Ramanaidu, 35, a native of Cherukulapadu village in Veldurthi Mandal, has 6 cases. Vadde Ramanjaneyulu alias Anji, 40, a resident of Sareen Nagar in Kurnool city, has 10 cases in various police stations. Yerukali Poleti Sathyam, 46, a resident of Neelakanteswara Swamy Temple Street in Kurnool city, has 14 cases pending. Gurrala Kranthi Kumar, 24, a resident of Weaker Section Colony, has 15 cases,
Pathan Imraan Khan, 25, a resident of Shareen Nagar in Kurnool city, has 17 cases. Beesannagari Ramanjaneyulu, 35, a native of Cherukulapadu village in Veldurthi Mandal, has 5 cases. Yerukala Jagannatha Naganna alias Kunti Naganna, 42, resident of Tilak Nagar in Yemmiganur town, has 13 cases registered in different police stations across Kurnool.
Though police registered criminal cases and remanded them several times, their attitude did not change. Later police invoked the PD act against the eight persons.
Siddarth Kaushal warned habitual offenders against disturbing the peace in society. He further said that so far 14 PD act cases have been booked in the district from January 2022.
