How murder was disguised as accidental drowning, Golconda police arrest 19 YO
By Newsmeter Network Published on 29 Jun 2021 1:30 PM GMTHyderabad: The Golconda police uncovered a murder that took place on 10 May at Attarasidi situated at Qutubshahi Masjid in Reshambagh and arrested the accused. The death was made to look like an accidental drowning case, the police said on Tuesday.
On the morning of 12 May, the police received a complaint from Bhanu Prakash, a constable of the Golconda police station. The previous night he was on Blue Colts duty in the sector-1 area when he received a Dial 100 call from an unknown caller. The latter informed him that a body of an unknown male aged between 20 to 35 years was found floating in a well near Quthubshahi Masjid in Attarasadi.
Mr. Prakash rushed to the spot and started inquiries but no one could identify the dead man. He shifted the body to the Osmania Hospital mortuary and lodged a complaint. The victim was identified as M.D Ajju Ali (21). The police started probing all angles after his father suspected foul play. After investigations, they arrested 19-year-old Mohammed Irfan.
The police found that on 10 May, Irfan took Ali to the well for a swim. At the well, Ali insisted Irfan come into the deep water. When the latter refused, Irfan pulled him and pushed him into the water twice due to which he drowned. Three boys witnessed the incident. However, Irfan convinced them that Ali had drowned accidentallyThe police found that both men worked as auto trolley drivers. Irfan wanted to buy an auto-rickshaw and wanted Ali to provide surety. But, the latter had refused. The two had also fought over a woman. The police said Irfan bore a grudge against Ali for all these reasons and killed him.
