Nacharam police nab 2 drug peddlers, seize 25 kg ganja

The police said the two procured ganja from the Agency area of Visakhapatnam at cheaper rates and sold the same to needy customers in and around Hyderabad for a higher price.

Nacharam police nab 2 drug peddlers, seize 25 kg ganja

Hyderabad: The Nacharam police along with the special operations team (SOT), LB Nagar zone, busted an interstate drug syndicate and apprehended two interstate drug peddlers. They seized 25 kg of ganja from Kokkirigadda Subudhi Johnson and Mohd Shoiab.

A case has been registered under various sections of the NDPS Act.

Kokkirigadda Subudhi Johnson and Mohd. Shoiab have been illegally transporting ganja since 2020. According to the police, they have contacts with ganja sellers in Andhra Pradesh, particularly Visakhapatnam.

The police said the two procured ganja from the Agency area of Visakhapatnam at cheaper rates and sold the same to needy customers in and around Hyderabad for a higher price.

On 26 June, as per Johnson's directions his associate Nisar went to Visakhapatnam by train and purchased 25 kg of ganja from Sudheer Sahoo for Rs. 2,000 per kg. It was to be sold to customers in Hyderabad for Rs. 15,000 per kg.

Nisar took a train to Hyderabad and brought the contraband with him. On 28 June, he disembarked at the Moula-Ali Railway station at about 12:30 p.m. On the same day, at about 2 p.m, based on a tip-off, the Nacharam police along with the SOT LB Nagar zone team intercepted their vehicle near Delhi Public School in Nacharam main road and apprehended the two men. They seized 25 kg ganja, a two-wheeler, and two mobile phones ā€“ all worth Rs. 4 lakhs ā€“ from their possession.

The police said that earlier, Johnson and his friend Nelson Venkatesh were arrested by the Singavarapur Kota (S. Kota) police in Visakhapatnam in 2020 in an NDPS case and sent to judicial remand. In 2021, Johnson and two others were involved in another NDPS case at the Raidurgam police station in Cyberabad.
