Hyderabad: Covering a distance of 1.5kms in five minutes on a bike - no, it's not a scene from an action thriller but a prompt action by the Narayanguda police on Wednesday night to save a woman's life.
At around 10 p.m on Wednesday, the Narayanguda police received a call from Jagtyal town about a suicide attempt by a woman living in street no 6 In Narayanguda. The woman was apparently attempting suicide live on Instagram. One of the viewers, her friend, dialed 100 to inform the police. Constables Madhu, Ramesh, Sriharinath, Sivaprasad, and Rahul Nayak sped on their bikes to the spot and reached there in five minutes and rescued the woman.
"The woman was admitted to a hospital immediately. She has been discharged and is now safe," said Ravi Kumar, crime inspector of Narayanguda police station.
