Hyderabad: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Tuesday caught a traffic police constable red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 5000.
Constable Vikas Yadav of Narayanguda traffic police station had demanded Rs 5,000 bribe to release a seized two-wheeler of a man booked for drunken driving.
Complainant Md Khaja Habibuddin of Tolichowki had approached ACB after constable Vikas Yadav demanded Rs 5,000 to release the seized two-wheeler of his friend Ramzan and dispose of the case with penalty. The bike was seized during a drunken driving check by Narayanaguda traffic police.
ACB sleuths laid a trap and caught Vikas Yadav red-handed accepting cash laced with chemicals. The chemical test yielded positive results. The constable was arrested and produced at the special ACB court at Nampally. Further investigation is underway.
