Hyderabad: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday caught a Tahsildar red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.
S Sridhar, Tahsildar and Joint Sub-Registrar, Marikal Mandal, Narayanpet district was caught at his office when he demanded and accepted the bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant Rasala Srishaila, a resident of Moosapeta, Hyderabad.
He demanded a bribe for a succession of the agricultural land from the husband of the complainant to her name, an ACB statement said.
The bribe amount of Rs.20,000 was recovered from the file. Chemical tests conducted on the contact portion of the file yielded positive results. Sridhar was arrested and produced before the Ist Additional Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad, the statement added.
