New Year tragedy: 3 youth killed in road accident in Vizag
The incident occurred at around 6.30 a.m when both motorbikes collided due to over-speeding.

Three youth died while one was injured after two speeding motorcycles collided on the BRTS road in Visakhapatnam at on the morning of 1 January.
The victims were identified as Rakesh and Ram Babu from Vivekananda Nagar in Arilova, and Nitish from Pydimamba Colony in Vepagunta. All three were aged between 21-25 years.
According to the Arilova police, Nitish and his friend were on their way to Arilova from Vepagunta, while Rakesh and Rambabu, on another motorbike, were going towards Simhachalam from Vivekananda Nagar. Their vehicles collided as they were approaching Apollo Hospitals. Speaking to NewsMeter, Arilova police station CI Emmanuel Raju said, "The incident occurred at around 6.30 a.m when both motorbikes collided due to over-speeding. Three died on the spot while another injured was taken to a private hospital. They might have consumed alcohol during the new year celebrations but we cannot say that for sure."
A case has been registered by the Arilova police.
According to the police, Arilova BRTS Road was closed off in accordance with the new year restrictions on 31 December night. No vehicles were allowed from 9 p.m to the early hours of 1 January.
