Nigerian, 3 others arrested in Hyderabad with 303 gms of cocaine

Cyberabad police caught Nigerian, 3 others with 303 gms of cocaine

Hyderabad: In a major crackdown against drug peddlers in Cyberabad, the special operations team (SOT) of Madhapur and the Raidurgam police arrested four drug peddlers, including a Nigerian national, and seized 303 grams of cocaine worth Rs. 1.33 crores along with other items from their possession. The arrests were made near Nanakramguda rotary under the limits of Raidurgam police station on Friday.

The accused have been identified as Chinta Rakesh Roshan, Gajjela Srinivas Reddy, Surya Prakash alias David, and Victor Chukwu, a Nigerian national. Another accused, Gabriel alias Petit, is absconding while the others were arrested and will be remanded on Saturday. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act 1985 by the Raidurgam police.

Other items seized from the accused include mobile phones, four-wheelers, and a weighing machine.



According to the police, Rakesh Roshan used to run a dry fruits business but he incurred losses. He became addicted to cocaine after attending a party in Goa. He started procuring cocaine at Rs. 7,000 per gram from Gabriel and supplying it to people in Hyderabad at a higher rate of Rs. 15,000–18,000 per gram. He then brought in Gajjela Srinivas Reddy and Surya Prakash into the business, taking a commission from both.

On Tuesday, Surya Prakash procured 23 grams of cocaine from Chukwu Victor in Goa but was caught by the SOT and Raidurgam police on Thursday. Srinivas Reddy went to Goa on Thursday and procured 100 grams of cocaine from Victor and brought it to Hyderabad. After receiving information, the police nabbed Rakesh Roshan with 80 grams of cocaine.

The police have requested the public to contact them in case they have any information related to drug suppliers through Dial 100 or through Cyberabad NDPS Enforcement Cell 7901105423 or Cyberabad Whatsapp number 9490617444. Their identities will be kept confidential.
