Hyderabad: An alleged Nigerian drug peddler was arrested in Kacheguda near D-Mart Road. The sleuths of Commissionerās Task Force, Central Zone Team who made the arrest along with Kacheguda PS officials said they seized seven grams of cocaine from the accused, identified as Ngwuchukwu Godwin Ifeanyi alias Godwin (34), a native of Enugu State, Nigeria Country.
They arrested Godwin when he was waiting to deliver the drugs to a user.
Case details
Godwin came to India in 2015 on a student visa and joined a pharmacy college in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. Inspired by his Nigerian friends in the business of drugs, he started procuring cocaine and sold it to users. Even though his student visa expired in 2016, he stayed in India.
He started using his contacts with his Nigerian friends to procure drugs and sell them in Hyderabad.
Modus operandi
He would procure drugs from Mumbai or Bangalore through a peddler in bulk and supply them to consumers in Hyderabad. He was operating the drug business from Kharghar, Mumbai. The drugs would reach Mumbai through different routes, from where it was collected by him. All financial transactions are made online and the delivery would be done through online services. The entire delivery was the dead drop method.
He was arrested multiple times in drug cases and later released on bail. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
