Hyderabad: The CCS LB Nagar team arrested a notorious house burglar who had committed 41 offences in Rachakonda, Cyberabad, and various districts of Telangana. They recovered 350 grams of gold ornaments, 1.5 kg silver ornaments, cash Rs. 1.50 lakh, and other items ā all worth Rs. 23.80 lakh āfrom his possession.
The accused has been identified as Shaik Yamin (39) of Yelikatta village in Shadnagar, Ranga Reddy district. Three others are absconding.
Shaik Yamin is originally from Jagityal town where he used to work as a labourer. He started committing burglaries in 2010 and was first arrested by the Jagityal police the same year. He was arrested by the Nizamabad town police and the Meerpet police in 2015 and 2016, respectively. In 2018, he was arrested in a rape case by the Nirmal Rural police and imprisoned for a year.
In 2019, he was again arrested by the Nirmal police for property offences and sent to judicial remand. He was released in November 2019. In all, he was involved in 85 property offences in various police station areas of Telangana.
On 5 February 2022, the complainant locked his home and left for Goskonda village to attend a marriage. When he returned home on the morning of 8 February, he found that someone had broken into his house and stolen gold ornaments and Rs. 1 lakh cash.
The sleuths of CCS LB Nagar team along with the Abdullapurmet police arrested Shaik Yamin on 4 March.
