Hyderabad: The sleuths of cybercrime, Rachakonda, arrested a person who has been cheating people through phone calls.

Detailing the crime, the police said that the accused, Bondili Sundeep Singh, 38, based out of Jaipur, used to deal in clothes and food businesses in Hyderabad and Jaipur. He used to live a lavish lifestyle and had got addicted to alcohol. After the lockdown began he, along with his brother-in-law, Bannalal Bawaria, started cheating people.

They procured SIM cards using fake addresses and also opened various online wallets. They would call people up and under the pretext of providing IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited) dealership. After taking the amount they would switch off their phones. They managed to make one of their victims transfer Rs 3,63,105 using this method.

Based on the evidence collected, the accused's location was traced and he was arrested.
