Nellore: In a major road accident, one woman died and nearly 15 injured after a speedy APSRTC bus hit a stranded lorry and overturned into the agricultural lands. The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon near the Buchireddi Palem area of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the Buchireddi Palem police, the bus had around 25 passengers travelling from Atmakuru to Nellore. Speaking to News Meter, Sub-inspector of Buchireddi Palem, Prasad Reddy said, "The accident happened completely due to negligence of RTC bus driver when he hit a lorry which was parked at the left side of the road. A few people got majorly injured. We have registered a case. Once the driver gets discharged from the hospital, we will arrest him".
Soon after the accident, the bus overturned into the fields. While one died, the condition of two passengers among the injured is said to be critical. The injured passengers were sent to Nellore government hospital.
