Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police raided Club Tollywood pub in the Country Club, Begumpet, on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday for allowing obscene activities in its premises. The owners of the pub, 33 male customers, and nine women were arrested.

The sleuths of the commissioner's task force, west zone team, Hyderabad, raided the pub and found women indulging in obscene acts with the male customers. The owners of Club Tollywood, N. Venu Gopal (43) and R. Sai Baradwaz (30), were arrested while the manager, Ramu, is absconding.

This is not the first time the pub has been involved in such cases. On 5 June 2021, the west zone task force had raided the pub that was then known as Lisbon Restobar and Pub under charges of allowing obscene acts and apprehended 30 people, including seven women.

In December 2019, the west zone task force had raided the pub and arrested 30 people, including 21 women, for obscene activities. Apart from these, the Panjagutta police had booked four cases against the pub between 2017 and 2020 for illegal activities.

In 2021, the management had changed the pub's name to Club Tollywood but continued its illegal activities. The investigation revealed that the management had hired the women to dance and allow the customers to touch them.
