Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO), Peddapalli, for accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh.
Kudikala Shankar Kumar, RDO, Peddapalli was caught-red-handed when he accepted the bribe through his private servant Thota Mallikarjun.
Complainant Gaikwad Rajanikant had paid the bribe to get bills cleared. The bills of Rs 9,28,796 pertained to the works of spraying Sodium Hypochlorite in Ramagundam Municipal Corporation limits, the ACB said.
"Shanaka Kumar performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly. The private servant of RDO was caught red-handed and the bribe amount was recovered from his possession. The RDO and his private servant were arrested and produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Karimnagar," the ACB said.
