Pedestrian killed in fatal accident in Mailardevpally

Hyderabad, December 18: A pedestrian was killed in a fatal accident that happened on 12th December at around 6:50 pm near Sri Darma Kanta at Kattedan, Mailardevpally under Mailardevpally police station in Cyberabad.

The accused person, identified as Shivalapally Surendra drove the motorcycle numbered AP11AT7791 in a dangerous manner at high speed without possessing a valid driving licence and hit on a pedestrian who was crossing the road near Sri Darma Kanta at Kattedan.

The pedestrian Laxmibhai alias Laxmi (42), a resident of Shivarampally in Rajendra Nagar Mandal in Rangareddy district succumbed to injuries.

Surendra (22) is a resident of the Housing Board colony in Rajendra Nagar Mandal in the Rangareddy district.

He drove the vehicle in a dangerous manner at high speed without possessing a valid driving licence, knowing clearly that it was a highly dangerous act and can cause serious accidents. This amounts to culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

A case is registered under sections 304-II of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 181, 184, and 196 of the Motor Vehicles Act (MV Act) in the Mailardevpally police station.

On 17th December Surendra was arrested and remanded to judicial custody for a period of 14 days.
