Amaravati: A spate of violent, provocative and unlawful incidents allegedly involving YSRCP cadres across Andhra Pradesh has triggered serious concern, prompting the state police to register criminal cases and secure remands in multiple instances. The incidents were reported from several districts in connection with the birthday celebrations of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
According to police records, YSRCP activists and local leaders were allegedly involved in public slaughter of goats, splashing blood on party flex banners and staging aggressive displays that violated criminal laws, animal cruelty regulations and public order norms. Such incidents were reported from Anantapuramu, Sri Sathya Sai, Chittoor and East Godavari districts, with acts taking place near temples, village centres, bus stands and residential localities, raising serious law-and-order concerns.
Police registered FIRs under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act in several cases.
The accused were taken into custody and produced before courts. Senior police officials issued a stern warning that slogans such as “rappa rappa,” public bloodshed and the glorification of violence would lead to immediate arrest and imprisonment, stressing that political symbolism involving weapons and intimidation would not be tolerated.
The developments coincided with a strong message from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who on Tuesday inaugurated the District Police Office in Tirupati and directed the police to act firmly and impartially. Addressing senior officials, the Chief Minister cautioned against rowdy elements operating under political cover and said that “rowdyism in the name of politics will not be tolerated,” asserting that action would be taken irrespective of party affiliation. He also instructed the police to make effective use of technology, surveillance systems and drones to curb crime and intimidation.
The Chief Minister’s remarks are being viewed as a direct response to the alleged pattern of intimidation politics, including the use of violent imagery, blood rituals and threatening language. He further warned against misinformation and inflammatory content on social media, stating that stringent action would be taken against attempts to disrupt governance through false campaigns.

One of the most serious incidents was reported from East Godavari district.
YSRCP leaders created unrest in Chodavaram village of Nallaiarla mandal in East Godavari district by staging a provocative act in front of a party flex banner. As part of the incident, a goat was reportedly sacrificed and its blood smeared on the flexi, accompanied by provocative slogans such as “Rappa Rappa.” The entire episode was videographed and circulated.
The incident occurred on Friday night, following which the police detained seven YSRCP leaders in connection with the case. East Godavari District Superintendent of Police Narasimha Kishore warned that strict action would be taken against anyone involved in sacrificing animals in front of flex banners or creating fear through such videos. He also cautioned youth against engaging in such activities, stating that such actions could ruin their future.
In another incident, celebratory disturbances allegedly involving party activists reportedly resulted in an assault on a pregnant woman, underlining the potential for political rowdyism to cause direct harm to civilians.
Police sources said that while some incidents were initially not reported, the state machinery has now moved decisively to identify, book and prosecute those responsible, sending a clear message that violence and intimidation will no longer enjoy political protection.
