Private school teacher in Adibatla dies by suicide, two colleagues held for harassment

Hyderabad: A 29-year-old private school teacher allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Adibatla after being harassed by two male colleagues.
Police have registered a case of abetment of suicide and taken the accused into custody.
Tragic incident
The woman, a science teacher hailing from Assam, was found hanging in her house on September 19. At the time, her husband was away in Assam on business. The police informed him about the death.
Complaint filed by husband
In his complaint lodged on September 20, the husband alleged that his wife had been subjected to harassment and indecent behaviour by two teachers at her school for the past six months.
Despite his warning them over the phone, the harassment allegedly worsened after he left for Assam on September 15.
Couple’s background
The couple, who had a love marriage eight years ago, had moved from Assam to Hyderabad to build their life. The husband claimed that his wife’s ordeal at the workplace ultimately pushed her to take the extreme step.
Police action
Based on the complaint, Adibatla police registered a case under abetment of suicide against the two colleagues and arrested them. Further investigation is in progress.
