Rachakonda police arrests mother-daughter for robbery
By Newsmeter Network Published on 27 Nov 2020 11:45 AM GMTHyderabad: The Rachakonda police, on 27 November, arrested two women for robbing a house in Medchal district. The cops seized 44 tulas of gold ornaments, 15 tulas of silver ornaments, and cash worth Rs. 10,500.
The arrested persons have been identified as Vasagoni Sony (25) and Nemuri Leelavathi (43).
According to the complainant Vasagoni Venkataswamy, a resident of Malkajgiri in Medchal district, he and his wife came home on the night of 23 November and found that someone had entered their home and stolen gold, silver, and cash.
The police said that Sony married Venkatswamy's youngest son Vishwanth in 2016. At the time of the marriage, Leelavathi had mortgaged a plot for Rs. 30 lakhs but due to financial difficulties had been unable to repay the amount. In view of their difficulties, Leelavathi hatched a plan and suggested her daughter rob her in-laws' house. On 23 November, while all the family members were out the mother-daughter duo entered the house and stole cash and valuables.
The police checked CCTV footage and identified the accused persons. On Friday, they arrested Sony and her mother Leelavathi and recovered the stolen property from their possession.
