Hyderabad: Rachakonda police busted an inter-state drug peddling gang and arrested two smugglers with 200 kilogram of Ganja. Acting on specific information, the sleuths of Special Operations Team (SOT), LB Nagar Zone along with Hayathnagar Police apprehended two interstate drug peddlers.

They have been identified as Devendar Singh of Rajasthan and Ravindra Kumar Pandith of Uttar Pradesh. Cops seized 200 kilos of Ganja, one truck, and Rs 15,000 cash. The value of Ganja is said to be Rs 40 lakh in the market.

Cops also registered a case against the main accused identified as Yadav from Uttar Pradesh. Police said he is on the run. Police said Devendar Singh, Ravindra Kumar Pandith, and Yadav are reportedly close friends.

Police said Yadav is a professional drug trafficker who transports Ganja from Araku Area of Visakhapatnam to Agra in Uttar Pradesh. Three years ago, Yadav got acquainted with Ganja seller Hari of the Araku area. Since then he has been purchasing Ganja from him on regular basis.

Later Yadav got acquainted with Devender and Ravinder. The trio has been involved in Ganja smuggling from Araku to Agra.

"Yadav chooses few trucks which ply between south and northern states. He designs secret cabins behind the driver's seat to conceal drugs. The drugs are loaded in these secret chambers from Araku and delivered at different places," police said.

Police said Yadav purchases Ganja from Hari at Rs.3000 per kilo and sells it at Rs.10,000 to potential customers. In this particular case, Yadav, Devendar Singh, and Ravindra Kumar Pandith went to the Araku agency area on April 7. They collected 40 packets of Ganja weighing about 200 kilos and concealed them in the secret cabin behind the driver's seat. They left Padva village for Agra and Hyderabad in the same lorry on April 11.

But, luck did not favor them this time around. In the early hours of Wednesday when Devender Singh and Ravinder Kumar Pandith reached Hayathnagar police station, the team of SOT LB Nagar along with Hayath Nagar police arrested them and recovered Ganja.
