Rachakonda police launch free cab service for senior citizens, pregnant women

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police in association with Mahendra Logistics Ltd. launched a free cab service for senior citizens, pregnant women, and non-critical medical emergencies on 24 April. It also launched an ambulance service in collaboration with TCS.

'Alyte' by Mahindra Logistics Ltd. will offer non-critical emergency services by providing two vehicles to those requiring emergency transportation services barring all medical emergencies. These services will be available 24/7 basis and will be run in collaboration with the Rachakonda police commissionerate.

All Alyte vehicles are regularly disinfected and the drivers' health is monitored on daily basis thereby ensuring a safe, secure, and stress-free ride for the citizens, the Rachakonda police said on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the ambulance, provided by TCS Adibhatla at camp office LB Nagar, will not function as an alternate to 108 or ambulance service. The ambulance service can be availed by calling the COVID control room 9490617234. Alyte services will cater to the areas in the Malkajgiri zone like Kushiaguda, Neredmet, Nacharam, Malkagiri, and Uppal. Even during the night curfew hours, services may be availed for non-critical medical emergencies.

Rachakonda commissioner of police Mahesh Bhagwat said the services may be availed by senior citizens who need to go for vaccination to the nearest vaccination center, pregnant women or those with infants who need medical attention or women who have to visit hospitals and dispensaries for periodical doctor's appointment.
