Hyderabad: Rajendranagar police bust interstate MDMA and ganja supply network

Hyderabad: The Rajendranagar Police, in a joint operation with the Special Operations Team (SOT), successfully busted an interstate drug syndicate involved in the supply and distribution of MDMA and ganja. Three suppliers have been arrested.

Based on credible intelligence, the police launched a coordinated operation on Thursday and intercepted a group of drug suppliers near Aramghar X Road, Rajendranagar. Following interrogation and further leads, a group of consumers was apprehended at HP Petrol Pump, Pillar No. 295, Rajendranagar.

The accused have been identified as Sangadi Santosh from Kakinada, AP; Gandhi Sandeep from Bengaluru; and Kandepalli Shiva Kumar from Rajahmundry, AP. Another accused is absconding. The accused have priors in similar cases.

The consumers have been identified as Palaka Sai Babu, an IT employee from Rajahmundry; Kotha Vishal Reddy, a private employee from Khajaguda; and Plishetty Sameer, a photographer from KPHB.

Modus Operandi

The accused had established contact with an unidentified drug supplier through Instagram, who coordinated with interstate peddlers for the delivery of narcotics. The suppliers transported 17 grams of MDMA and 150 grams of ganja from Bengaluru to Hyderabad, concealing the contraband in bags.

Upon reaching Aramghar X Road, Rajendranagar, they were intercepted and apprehended by the police. Acting on their confession, three consumers were later arrested near the HP Petrol Pump, Pillar No. 295, Rajendranagar.

All six accused have been remanded to judicial custody, while efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the absconding supplier.

The seized contraband includes: MDMA (17 grams), ganja (150 grams). As much as Rs 9,700 has also been seized.

The joint efforts and prompt action of the Rajendranagar Police Station staff and the SOT Rajendranagar Team are highly appreciated. Their exemplary coordination in dismantling this drug network will be suitably rewarded, the police said.
