Hyderabad: Police have foiled a plan of Maoists to revive SIKASA activities in Godavarikhani town.

Police have arrested a member of CPI (Maoist) who was deputed to revive the activities.

Police said during patrolling on the intervening night of December 7 and 8, cops found a man suspiciously roaming around at the CSP colony.

When cops approached him, he tried to run away. However, police meticulously nabbed him, The accused has been identified as Pamidimalla Avinash alias Mallesh. Hailing from Satulur, he studied B.Sc. (Nursing) and used to run his family printing press in his village.

Some members of the frontal organizations used to come for the printing of documents/pamphlets at his press. Through them, he got into contact with the CPI (Maoist) and was attracted to their ideology.

“About two years ago, he joined CPI (Maoist) and was working for them. Recently, he came to Godavarikhani to revive SIKASA activities on the instructions of Singareni Karmika Samakhya affiliated to the CPI Maoist,” police said.

Police have seized some posters containing CPI (Maoist) propaganda.
