Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Ranga Reddy Unit, has arrested G. Krishna, a revenue inspector at the Tahsildarās Office, Ibrahimpatnam Mandal, Ranga Reddy district, for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 12 lakh from a landowner for manipulating land records.
Bribe demanded for manipulating land records
According to ACB officials, the accused officer demanded the bribe to facilitate the addition of 7 guntas of land into the Pattadar passbook of the complainantās father in Survey No. 355, Adibatla village, under Ibrahimpatnam Mandal.
Krishna also allegedly promised to ensure that the file would be processed smoothly at the RDO office, while claiming he could influence his higher-ups at both the MRO and RDO levels.
Officials stated that the accused misused his public office by performing his duties dishonestly and with corrupt intent, violating the ethical standards expected of government employees.
Legal action and investigation
The accused officer was arrested and is being presented before the 1st Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally Court, Hyderabad. The case is under further investigation, according to a statement issued by the ACB officials.
