Rangareddy Joint Sub-Registrar Madhusudhan booked in DA case: Assets worth Rs 7.83 crore unearthed
Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Telangana, has registered a disproportionate assets (DA) case against a suspended Joint Sub-Registrar, Rangareddy, after detecting assets allegedly far beyond his known sources of income.
Searches conducted on Friday revealed properties, vehicles, cash and investments collectively valued at Rs 7.83 crore at document value, with investigators stating the market value could be significantly higher.
Case registered against suspended Joint Sub-Registrar
The case has been booked against Kandadi Madhusudhan Reddy (50), Joint Sub-Registrar (SRO-1), Rangareddy Registration Office, who is currently under suspension. According to the ACB, he allegedly amassed assets through corrupt practices and dubious means during his service.
Searches at multiple locations
Invoking provisions under Sections 13(1)(b) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018), ACB teams carried out searches on January 23 at eight locations, including the officer’s residence and premises linked to relatives, friends, benamis and associates.
Properties and assets unearthed
During the searches, officials reportedly found documents relating to:
- A G+2 triplex independent house on 300 sq yards at Bhavani Nagar Colony, Kapra (ECIL), Medchal–Malkajgiri
- An open plot at Chintapallyguda, Ibrahimpatnam
- 27 acres of agricultural land at Naskal village, Parigi mandal
- One acre of commercial land at Mangalpally, Ibrahimpatnam
- A farmhouse with a swimming pool at Naskal village, valued at about Rs 1.24 crore
Cash, gold and high-end vehicles seized
Investigators also seized approximately Rs 9 lakh in cash and about 1.2 kg of gold ornaments.
In addition, three vehicles were found: an Innova Fortuner, a Volvo XC60 B5, and a Volkswagen Taigun GT Plus.
The total value of movable and immovable assets detected stands at Rs 7,83,35,302 at document value, the ACB said.
Business investments and shell companies
The ACB further alleged that the officer invested around Rs 80 lakh in a liquor business under the name ARK Spirits and floated two shell companies in the names of his wife and children.
Officials said verification of additional assets is underway, and the case remains under investigation.

The ACB urged citizens to report bribery demands by public servants through its toll-free number 1064. Complaints can also be lodged via WhatsApp (9440446106) and on the social media platforms of ACB Telangana.
