Rare Bonsai plant stolen from Ex-DG Appa Raos house in Jubilee Hills, cops begin hunt

Hyderabad: Retired Director-General of Police V Appa Rao's wife has filed a complaint with the Jubilee hills police regarding theft of a valuable 15 year old Bonsai miniature plant.

The incident occurred on Sunday resulting in cops registering a case under section 379 (Punishment for theft) of Indian Penal Code.

The complaint V Sridevi, spouse of the retired IPS officer told that police that the couple has a high number of Bonsai trees in their garden. On Sunday, one Saru (Casuarina)chettee) was stolen from their garden. The theft was reported when the garden found the tree missing while he watered the plant.The house is located in Jubilee Hills Road no 18. While this is not the first case of theft reported from the retired IPS officer's house.

Speaking to NewsMeter, Jubilee Hills Inspector of police K Sathaiah said, "The plant was located in front of the gate. On Sunday, the plant went missing. The investigating officer is analysing the CCTV footage. A case under section 379 of IPC has been registered".
