Telangana: A one-and-a-half-year-old girl died under mysterious circumstances when her mother went to the village head to complain against her husband and mother-in-law in Kohir Mandal of Sangareddy district.
According to reports, the child's mother Bhagyalakshmi had gone to complain to the Sarpanch against her `abusiveā husband and mother-in-law. When she returned home, she found her daughter Vaishnavi dead.
Bhagyalakshmi alleged that her mother-in-law, Vanajata, had been harassing her regularly because she was angry about her inter-caste marriage. This is not the first time such an incident has happened in the family. Earlier, a seven-month-old baby had died under similar circumstances.
Bhagyalakshmi filed a complaint with the Kohir police station, accusing her husband Venkat Reddy, and mother-in-law Vanajata of strangling her one-and-a-half-year-old baby.
Police registered a case and shifted the child's body to the Zaheerabad Regional Hospital. Bhagyalakshmi's husband and mother-in-law are absconding.
Kohir police have registered a case, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
