Hyderabad: A severed head of an infant was found on the ground floor of Chandra Arcade.
The incident came to light when SK. Jahir, a 34-year-old goldsmith residing near the Government School in Kalasiguda, saw a suspicious plastic cover.
According to the Mahankali police, Jahir, who works on the first floor of Chandra Arcade, spotted a plastic cover containing the head of a newborn child. The head was reportedly lying in a supine position, with its eyes closed and mouth open.
Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, it was observed that a dog entered the premises carrying a plastic cover.
Residents suspect the dog may have brought the plastic cover containing the infant's head to the arcade steps. Initial observations suggest that the head bore injuries, were possibly caused by dog bites.
Police believe that the incident may be linked to an attempt to conceal the birth of the child. It is unclear whether the child died before, during, or after birth.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to identify those involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the infant’s death.
