By Newsmeter Network Published on 3 Aug 2021 2:15 PM GMTHyderabad: Days after a man killed his girlfriend and ended his life at a city hotel, the Madhapur DCP conducted a meeting with star hotels on Tuesday and asked them to send the list of guests every day to local police stations.
The DCP, Venkateshwarlu, met representatives of all 3 star and above category hotels in the Madhapur division and asked them to take a slew of measures to prevent similar incidents and strictly follow the rules.
He asked them to install IP-based CCTV cameras with a minimum storage capacity of 30 days. The cameras must cover each room door. Mere installing a CCTV camera at the end of the lobbies will not suffice, he told hoteliers.
He also asked them to keep a close watch on online bookings of single women and their visitors. Whenever there is a single woman and multiple visitors in a single day, the local police or Dial 100 should be immediately informed, he said. Also, whenever the hotel management or security feels suspicious of any activity of any guest, the same should be brought to the notice of the local police, he added.
The hotel authorities were directed to collect valid ID cards and phone numbers. The phone number must be cross-checked by giving a missed call, they were told. Further, they were asked to maintain a register for visitors who are going into the guest rooms.
