Senior advocate stabbed to death in Santosh Nagar over harassment complaint

Hyderabad: In a horrific incident, a senior advocate was stabbed to death in public in broad daylight here on Monday.

Soon after the incident, the accused surrendered at the IS Sadan police station. The deceased, identified as Esrayal Errappa, was stabbed by electrician Dastagiri in Santosh Nagar, New Maruti Nagar Colony.

The advocate sustained serious injuries in the attack and died while undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital.

According to police, Dastagiri was working as an electrician in Israel’s house. A woman sought help from Advocate Israel, alleging that Dastagiri was harassing her. Esrayal filed a complaint against Dastagiri on behalf of the woman. Following this, Dastagiri attacked Israel with a knife, leading to his death.

Upon receiving information about the incident, a team of police from IS Sadan rushed to the spot and examined the crime scene. A case has been registered, and further investigation is on, the police said.

Advocates Boycott Court

Members of the Rangareddy Bar Association staged a protest and boycotted court proceedings on Monday, condemning the brutal murder of senior advocate Esrayal Errappa.

The association was outraged by the incident and called for increased security for attorneys as well as harsh punishment for the perpetrators. Advocates staged a rasta roko in the streets to demand justice, bringing court proceedings to a halt.
