`Serial rapist' who sexually assaulted 17 women arrested in Hayathnagar
An alleged serial rapist was arrested in a joint operation by the CCS LB Nagar team and Hayathnagar police on Thursday.

Identified as Hussain Khan, he had reportedly committed two rapes in October 2020 and May 2021 in Hayathnagar.
Police said he also confessed to have raped 17 women in different parts of the city in 2020 and 2021. The accused used to target victims at toddy compounds.
Officials also recovered 90 grams of gold, cash and a scooter along with a phone, all worth Rs 3.95 lakh, from his possession.
"In 2016, Gopalapuram police of Hyderabad City detained him under the PD Act and lodged him in Cherlapally prison for one year," said Mahesh Bhagwat, Commissioner, Rachakonda Police.
Khan used to target women at toddy compounds and offer them money in exchange for sexual favors. After victims would agree, he would take them to an isolated location on his scooter.
After arriving at the spot, he would tell the victim to remove jewelry and hand over cash. To convince the victim, he would keep the money and belongings in the scooter dickey. "He used to take victims to isolated areas, forced them to leave remove their jewelry and rape them," Bhagwat said.
