Seven held for leakage of SSC Hindi paper in Srikakulam

Srikakulam: Srikakulam police on Saturday arrested seven persons in connection with the leakage of the SSC Hindi question paper on April 28 and said that a TDP activist was behind the leak with the intention to slur the image of the YSRCP government.

In a release on Saturday, the police said a Telugu channel released the details of the leak of the Hindi question paper at about 10.15 am on 28 April. The channel said the paper leaked from Rottavalasa and Kothakota ZP High Schools of Sarubujjili mandal of Srikakulam. Soon an investigation was launched and it was found that a person by name Bevara Raja Rao collected pictures of Hindi question papers from two persons identified as Pavan and Surendra, who took the question papers pictures through their mobile phones from Kothakota ZP High School.

Raja Rao did this to damage the reputation of the YSRCP government and to settle scores with the headmaster of the school with whom he had previous issues, the police said in the release.

Similarly, Bevara Hari Narayana, correspondent of Kerala English Medium School, also organized the leak of question paper from Rottavalasa ZP High School with an intention to fetch maximum marks to his students that he believed would in turn popularize his school. He used the services of his school accountant Charan and his friends Kallepalli Ramu and Akkireddy Jayaram.

All the seven were arrested on Saturday and cases were registered under Section 8 (r/w) 4 and 5 of AP Public Examination (prevention of malpractice and unfair means) Act of 1997 and Section 66 of IT Act of 2008 by the Sarubujjili Police station.
