Seven youths held in connection with 23YOs murder in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: The Visakhapatnam police on Saturday arrested seven youngsters in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Rebaka Sai Teja. The police said old rivalry was the reason for the murder. Teja's body with stab injuries was found at Marripalem Railway Ground under the Airport police station limits in Vizag city in the wee hours of Friday.

The arrested have been identified as Bangari Raju, Md. Yusaf Khan, V. Ravi Kumar, P. Jayanth, B. Mohan, S. Suresh, and Seepana Suresh – all aged between 20 and 24 years. One juvenile was involved in the crime but he is still at large. The investigation revealed that Teja and his friend Nani had beat up Bangari Raju three months ago at Mahata Colony in the city. Raju had developed a grudge and had decided to kill Teja.

On 26 May, Teja and his friends were returning from a birthday party when Mohan called him and asked him to come to the Railway Ground at Marripalem to settle their issues. Teja along with four of his friends went to the Railway ground on motorbikes at around 2 a.m. Upon reaching the ground, Raju and seven others attacked Teja and his friends with sharp weapons. The attack led to a clash between the two groups. The police said Teja ran to the first floor of the railway quarter while his friends managed to escape from the spot. Raju and his gang chased Teja to the water tank at the Railway Ground and stabbed him to death.
