Guntur: A few weeks after an 8-year-old student was sexually assaulted allegedly by a primary school teacher at Brahmanapalli village in Pidiguralla mandal of Palnadu district, State Child Rights Commission (SCRC) member Bathula Padmavathi ordered the district education officials to conduct a thorough investigation.

According to sources, the school teacher allegedly drugged and raped the student. He later threatened her not to inform the parents about the assault.

The crime came to light three days ago after the girl fell sick and her parents took her to the local doctor. She was later shifted to the Guntur Government General Hospital (GGH) for better treatment where the doctors informed the parents about the sexual assault their daughter went through.

Speaking to NewsMeter, Bathula Padmavathi said, “We were told that the incident happened in the school. However, more details about the assault are yet to be known. A detailed report will be submitted in three days. We will take action against the teacher after the investigation is completed.”
