SHEera: Rachakonda Security Council initiative empowers rural women in Narayanpur

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Security Council in coordination with the Rachakonda police launched the flagship programme "SHEera - Empowering Rural Aspirants" on Monday to empower rural women and create self-employment.

More than 50 rural women will be trained in the first batch. The programme was rolled out in partnership with Inner Wheel Club Ekta.

A survey was conducted on 9 November to select eligible aspirants. The selected women have been divided into two batches. Each woman will be trained for four hours a day for 45 days. After the successful completion of the training, the women will be certified by Singer India Limited through Inner Wheel Club. This programme will enable the women to set up their silai centres, too.

Narayan Reddy, DCP Bongir, said this unique initiative will help develop confidence and entrepreneurship among the women and provide them financial independence. DCP of SHE Team Saleema interacted with the women and asked them to make the programme a success.

Survail sarpanch K. Bikshapathi has assured to provide support to the programme. Rachakonda commissioner of police Mahesh Bhagwat appreciated the initiative to empower women in rural areas of Rachakonda under the rural outreach program of Rachakonda Security Council.
