Shocker! Man murdered, body chopped off; semi-decomposed parts recovered from drain in Anakapalle

Anakapalle: Anakapalle district has slipped into shock after a man’s body parts were found in a drain near Kothapalem village under Yelamanchili police station limits.

Police are yet to establish the identity of the victim. The body parts were in a semi-decomposed condition

Some youngsters found the body parts (suspected to be semi-burnt and semi-decomposed) when they were playing cricket near the bridge.

They informed the police who retrieved some body parts from the drain. However, some parts are still missing, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Parawada, P Srinivas.

“The man might have been murdered somewhere and the body was brought here to mislead the police,” he said.

The body parts were sent to a government hospital for autopsy. Later some of the parts were sent to a regional forensic laboratory to ascertain the cause of the death, the DSP said.
