Andhra: Speeding car jumps divider, crashes into bus at Nallagatla; 4 killed, 2 injured

Nandyal: Four people were killed and two others critically injured when a speeding car jumped the road divider and crashed into a private travel bus at Nallagatla in Allagadda mandal of Nandyal district, Andhra Pradesh, on Friday.

High-speed crash turns fatal

According to police, the car, which was travelling at a high speed, went out of control, breached the central divider, and collided with an oncoming CGR Travels bus. The impact was severe, resulting in the instantaneous death of four occupants of the car, while two others suffered serious injuries.

Victims from Hyderabad

The deceased were identified as Gunduravu (60), Shravan (22), Narasimha, and Bunny, all residents of Hyderabad. The injured victims were rescued from the mangled vehicle and shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

Rescue operations and police action

Following information from fellow passengers and locals, police rushed to the spot and initiated rescue operations. Traffic was temporarily disrupted as emergency services cleared the scene of the wreckage. Deputy Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar visited the accident site and supervised preliminary inquiries.

Minister expresses shock

Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy expressed deep shock over the incident, describing the loss of lives as extremely unfortunate. He directed district officials to remain alert, sought a detailed report on the accident, and instructed them to ensure immediate and proper medical care for the injured.

Appeal for road safety

The minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and urged motorists to exercise utmost caution while travelling. He stressed that overspeeding and negligence continue to be major causes of fatal accidents and called for responsible driving to prevent further loss of life.

Three killed as private bus rams parked car in Guntur district

In a separate incident, three people were killed and three others injured in a road accident after a private travels bus crashed into a stationary car near Ankireddypalem village in the limits of Nallapadu Police Station on Friday.

The accident occurred on the outskirts of Guntur district, when the private bus, reportedly travelling at high speed, rammed into a car that had been parked by the roadside near Ankireddypalem.

Three dead, three injured

Three occupants of the car died on the spot, while three others sustained injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The condition of the injured is said to be stable.

Victims from Suryapet

The deceased were identified as Venkayya (70), Sushila (64) and Mahesh (28). Police said all three were residents of Suryapet in Telangana.

Journey to Telangana ends in tragedy

According to preliminary information, the victims were travelling from Tirupati to Suryapet when the accident took place.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.
