SR Nagar police bust illegal betting ring, seize Rs. 1.15 cr

Hyderabad: The crime team of SR Nagar police station on 3 June apprehended three persons at B.K Guda Park who were organizing illegal online gaming and collecting huge money from punters in and around Hyderabad.

The arrested persons have been identified as Vishal Patel (26), KamleshRawat (42), and Patel Hitesh Ambala (28). All are from Gujarat. The fourth accused, Dharmesh Bhai, is absconding.

The police seized four cell phones, a cash counting machine, and cash of Rs. 1.15 crores from their possession.

Vishal Patel and Kamlesh Rawat were organizing online betting through 'Bet Bhai9.com.' The main organizer was Dharmesh Bhai. As per Vishal and Kamalesh's instructions, the punters used to download 'Bet Bhai9.com' to play games. If the punters played the game online for below Rs. 50,000 then the main organizer used to give ID numbers through his agents. Further, if punters wanted to play for above Rs. 50,000, then Vishal and Kamlesh used to visit the punter and collect the money from them and then give him the ID to play the game. The money collected was handed over to Patel Hitesh Ambala and the same was sent to Dharmesh Bhai.

After the result of the match, if they lost, they would send the money through PhonePe or GooglePay otherwise the bookie would send the winning amount to the player.

Based on credible information, the SR Nagar police on Friday apprehended Vishal and Kamalesh at B.K Guda Park and seized Rs. 2 lakhs from them. During the investigation, they further seized Rs. 1.13 crores from Patel Hitesh Ambala. The total amount seized came to Rs. 1.15 crores.
