It may be recalled that in March 2023, Mumbai police arrested Nagaraju after he impersonated Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and called a managing director of an electronic shop chain asking for Rs 12 lakh sponsorship for budding cricketer Ricky Bhui.

He was held in 2021 by Telangana police for posing as personal secretary to Minister KT Rama Rao and duped nine corporate firms to the tune of over Rs 40 lakh.

Nagaraju cheated over 60 corporate houses and allegedly collected over Rs 3 Crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the last six years. There are more than 40 FIRs against him. These include cheating cases.

Two-Town police in Srikakulam said they recovered 24 kg ganja from Nagaraju which he procured from Paralakhemundi of Odisha to transport it to Mumbai. Rajam and Tekkali police arrested him on the same charges in the past.
