Srikakulam: A 45-year-old man hacked a 14-year-old-boy to death to avenge his father's alleged extramarital affair with his wife at Kondagudem village under Santhakaviti Mandal in Srikakulam district on Saturday night.

The deceased was identified as R Ram Durga Prasad. The accused was identified as Kondapalli Govind.

Locals said Govind had developed a grudge against Durga Prasad's father RS Naidu suspecting him of having an affair with his wife. There were also disputes between the two families over some issues.

When Ram Durga Prasad was chilling out with his friends, Govind came to the spot and hit him with a hatchet before fleeing from the spot. Locals said that around six years ago, Govind tried to kill his wife and attempted suicide, but both survived.

The murder has sent shock waves across the village. Locals said they never witnessed such brutal murder in their village. Police have registered a case and launched a hunt to arrest the accused.
