Amdalavalasa: A woman from Srikakulam district has reportedly died under suspicious circumstances in Muscat, Oman. The deceased has been identified as Nagamani of Vedullavalasa village in Amdalavalasa mandal.

According to her family, they received information that Nagamani had allegedly died by suicide. However, her mother, Sarojini, has raised suspicions over the circumstances surrounding her death. She said Nagamani had been working in Muscat for the past four years after being sent there through an agent.

Nagamani had complained of harassment

The matter has been brought to the attention of local MLA Kuna Ravi Kumar, and she has also spoken with Union Minister K Rammohan Naidu, who assured that steps are being taken to repatriate Nagamani’s mortal remains to India.
