Stalker stabs inter first-year student in Amberpet, kills himself by jumping in front of train

Hyderabad: A 17-year-old boy stabbed a 16-year-old girl before taking his own life in Amberpet. The victim, a first-year intermediate student, had been facing persistent harassment from the boy for several days. The boy’s relentless pursuit included incessant messages and stalking.

According to Amberpet police, the boy and the girl had attended the same school in Turabnagar, Bagh Amberpet, until Class 10. Tragically, the girl’s mother, who was running a tailoring shop, passed away recently due to illness. The equipment for the shop was purchased from the boy’s family through which the boy came to know about the girl.

On Thursday evening, while the girl was on her way to the tuition with her mother’s sister, the boy stopped her and insisted that she join him for a birthday cake-cutting celebration, claiming it was his birthday. When the girl refused, the boy, driven by anger, followed her to the tuition centre.

At around 7:30 pm, the situation took a horrifying turn when the boy entered the tuition centre and attacked the girl with a knife. In the process, he also injured the woman accompanying the girl. Leaving the weapon at the scene, the assailant fled.

Both were rushed to the hospital for medical attention and are currently undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, the boy headed to the railway station near Vidyanagar and ended his own life by throwing himself in front of an oncoming train. The police arrived at the scene and shifted the boy’s body to Osmania Hospital for postmortem examinations.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting discussions about the need for increased awareness and action against harassment and violence among adolescents. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to understand the motives behind the tragic events that unfolded on that ill-fated Thursday evening.
