Sultan Bazaar cops nab drug dealer, two medical students with ganja

Hyderabad: On Saturday, the sleuths of Sultan Bazaar Police here along with TGNAB officials apprehended a ganja peddler in possession of the narcotic drug. He was caught trying to sell the same to customers who are medical students at Koti in Hyderabad. The police seized 10 sachets of ganja weighing 80 grams and 2 cell phones from his possession.

The peddler has been identified as Suresh Singh alias Tinku Singh (38). He is a resident of Dhoolpet. He was booked in multiple cases in Dhoolpet, Mangalhat and Tappachabutra police stations.

Case details

Suresh Singh alias Tinku Singh who is a habitual NDPS offender was nabbed when he came to Koti to sell ganja to medical students. He was found with two doctors who came to buy the ganja from him.

Both doctors tested positive for the ganja urine test. The accused Suresh Singh has been peddling ganja since 2016 and he used to procure the same from one Dinesh Singh of Machipura, Dhoolpet and sell them to customers who used to come to Gode ki Kabar.

He continued this for three years. During that period some medical students used to approach him to purchase ganja and through them, many more students went to him and purchased ganja.

Some of the students who used to come to him are Manikandan, Aravind and others. Nearly 8 to 10 medical students used to purchase ganja from the accused. For the last two years, Suresh Singh has been purchasing ganja from Pankaj Singh, a resident of Jummerath Bazaar.

On credible information, the medical students and the dealer were caught. A case was registered at Sultan Bazar Police Station, Hyderabad. So far four medical students have been identified and efforts are in progress to identify other medical students who consumed drugs.

Public advisory

In recent times, we have seen several youths/students getting addicted to drugs/ganja, committing crimes and involving in other anti-social activities.

Several families have become victims of the menace. It is an ardent request from TGNAB, Hyderabad City Police to the youth/students not to fall prey to drugs/ganja and request the parents to keep a watch on the activities of their children and feel free to approach police or pass information to police on 8712671111 to curtail such anti-social activities and strive for drug-free city.
