Tappachabutra: Man kills relative in cold blood; 2 held

A 26-year-old man was shot dead at Tappachabutra late Tuesday night.

The victim was identified as Akash Singh alias Chotu. The incident took place at Topkhana near Shabab Hotel in Karwan. Two assailants, Kranti Sagar (46), a real estate agent from Jaffargudan, and M. Chander (26), a collection agent for Bajaj Finance allegedly fired multiple shots at Akash Singh.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Akash Singh had previously attacked his relative Kranti Sagar. He was later booked for an attempt to murder. However, on Tuesday night, Kranti Sagar reached out to a common friend, Imran for a compromise meeting with Akash Singh.

Under the guise of a compromise, Kranti Sagar invited Akash to Imran's residence. Instead of resolving the dispute, Kranti Sagar suddenly pulled out a weapon and fired multiple rounds at Akash Singh, resulting in his immediate death. The assailants fled from the spot thereafter.

"We found multiple gunshot wounds on the deceased. We are investigating the case from all angles," said DCP South West Zone, Kiran Khare.

The body of Akash Singh has been shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem.

Later Kranti Sagar and M. Chander surrendered at the Tappachabutra Police Station. It has been revealed that the suspects had allegedly purchased a pistol from Bihar two months ago, The gun is suspected to have been used in the crime.



Tappachabutra police are investigating the case from all angles including the motive behind the murder and the possible involvement of any other person.
